Egyptian security sources told Ma’an news agency that Egyptian mediation has successfully removed the obstacles that had delayed the implementation of the prisoner exchange agreement between Hamas and Israel.

The sources confirmed that Israel has agreed to allow the entry of mobile homes and engineering equipment into the Gaza Strip for rubble removal. This had led to the suspension of prisoner releases in recent days. The weekly exchange process is expected to resume tomorrow, with three Israeli captives set to be released in exchange for a number of Palestinians.

This demand was one of the key points of contention, alongside humanitarian aid, which led Hamas to halt the release of Israeli captives as part of the phased handovers.

According to Maan’s correspondent, Israel has approved the entry of the first batch of trucks carrying mobile homes, along with engineering equipment and tents.
