Saad Hariri announces Future Movement’s return to politics

The head of the Future Movement, Saad Hariri, on Friday announced his return to political life and participation in all national activities in connection with the major changes in Lebanon and the region.

He is seizing the “golden opportunity” by setting a roadmap and basic guidelines that he will follow in the next stage based on supporting the mandate and the government, limiting weapons to the Lebanese army, building a normal state and normal relations with Arab countries and the international community the withdrawal of the occupation from all Lebanese territories and the implementation of Resolution 1701.

On Tuesday evening, Hariri arrived in Beirut to participate in marking the 20th anniversary of the assassination of his father and his companions and held a series of meetings that included Joseph Aoun, Nabih Berri, Nawaf Salam and other Lebanese officials, in addition to religious and diplomatic figures.=

On the 20th anniversary of the assassination of his father, the late Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, Saad Hariri addressed the masses who gathered in the thousands in downtown Beirut, asserting: “The Future Movement and Rafik Hariri’s audience remain here with you and will be your voice in all national entitlements and all upcoming stages. I told you before, ‘Everything comes at its right time,’ I will remain with you and by your side, and I will not leave you.”

“After 20 years, Rafic Hariri is still present, and so is his audience in all arenas; the Future Movement will remain a movement of moderation, the state, institutions, freedoms, Arabism, openness and coexistence,” he added.

Hariri noted that 20 years later, Rafic Hariri’s project: “Continues, through you, in a new form, and look where those who tried to kill his project have ended up. Foam disappears, but what benefits the people remains on the ground.”

“We are with the state and our national army, and with every effort they make to impose the implementation of the ceasefire and Resolution 1701 in full, meaning the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation from all the villages in which it is still present,” he said, expressing: “We support the phase, the government and every effort to build a normal state and normal relations with our Arab family and the international community, and to restore Lebanon’s role in the region and the world.”
