A Swedish court today found three men not guilty of preparation of terrorist crime in the Nordic country in 2023 and 2024 in the name of Islamic State, Reuters reports.
The three men together with a fourth were, however, convicted of participation in a terrorist organisation, Islamic State in Somalia, the court said in a statement.
The participation included recruitment to the organisation, dissemination of propaganda as well as providing arms training, it said.
Prosecutors said in the indictment from December that the three had intended to kill or injure others but did not disclose a specific target for the intended attack, and said they had links to an Islamic organisation near Stockholm.
Security police said separately at the time that the suspects had been arrested to avert a possible attack.
