No fish in the sea: The daily struggles of Gaza’s fishermen

How is this: MEMO correspondent Mohammed Asad visits Gaza’s coast, reporting on the dire conditions facing local fishermen. Once a bustling hub, the Gaza port now lies in ruins, repeatedly targeted during Israel’s war on the enclave. Fishing boats have been destroyed, equipment lost and fishermen are left with only oars to navigate the waters. With Israel restricting fishing zones and opening fire on those who venture out, their livelihood — and lives — are constantly at risk, even during the so-called ceasefire.
