Israeli occupation authorities yesterday issued a notice to seize a plot of land for the construction of a new settlement road northwest of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank, Safa reported.
Mohammad Azem, the head of the Joint Services Council for villages northwest of Nablus, said that Israeli occupation forces issued a notice to seize half a dunam (0.25 acres) of land from the towns of Sebastia, Al-Naqoura and Deir Sharaf. The land is intended for the construction of a road to serve a recently established illegal settler outpost in the territory.
The outpost was set up in mid-2023, initially with a single tent. Since then, it has expanded to include several mobile homes.
In January, the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission documented settlers’ attempts to establish ten new outposts, mainly for agricultural and grazing purposes. These included four outposts in Tubas, three in Nablus, and three others in Qalqilya, Ramallah and Bethlehem.
During the same period, Israeli authorities seized a total of 262 dunams (65 acres) of land across the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem.
