Israeli occupation forces yesterday stormed the Qibli Prayer Hall at Al-Aqsa Mosque, seized the loudspeakers, and then withdrew from the area, local sources cited by the Palestinian Media Centre said.
The occupation forces are preventing Palestinians from the occupied West Bank from entering occupied Jerusalem and praying at Al-Aqsa Mosque. They are only allowing Palestinian women over the age of 40 with a Palestinian identity card to enter the city.
Al-Aqsa Mosque is facing serious risks due to ongoing excavations and accelerating Judaisation projects. The latest proposal, suggested by Israeli Member of the Knesset Amit Halevi, calls for dividing the mosque and taking control of more than 70 per cent of its area.
This comes as Israel increases its military measures at the entrances and exits of Palestinian cities and towns, alongside the continued assault on Jenin, Tulkarm and their refugee camps in the northern West Bank since January.
