Secretary-General International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS), Ali Muhammad Al-Sallabi, has warned of the catastrophic consequences of the Israeli occupation’s ongoing ban on the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip saying it will lead to a severe shortage of food, water and medicine and will cause the health services to collapse, threatening the lives of thousands of civilians, especially children and the sick, Arabi21 reported.
Al-Sallabi told the site that what is happening in Gaza is a humanitarian crime that requires urgent action from the international community to pressure the Israeli occupation to open the crossings and allow the entry of humanitarian aid.
He added that Arab and Islamic governments and peoples should immediately take action to support the Palestinians, by providing urgent aid and exerting political and diplomatic pressure to lift the siege.
Israel suspended the entry of all humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip on 2 March, the day after the first phase of the ceasefire deal came to an end, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
