Qatar’s Minister of State for International Cooperation, Mariam Almissned, discussed cooperation between Qatar and Palestine with the Palestinian Minister of Education and Higher Education, Amjad Barham, Al Khaleej Online reported.

The meeting took place yesterday on the sidelines of Barham’s visit to Doha, according to a statement from the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the talks, the officials reviewed the latest developments in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories, as well as ways to address the challenges facing Palestine’s education sector.

Qatar supports education in Palestine as well as in other developing countries and regions affected by wars and conflicts.

The Gulf nation has also played a key role in mediating talks between Hamas and Israel to bring about a ceasefire deal, while also actively working with Egypt and the United States to advance the implementation of its phases.
