The Israeli army said Sunday that it had carried out a “precise strike” in the Lebanese capital Beirut, claiming it targeted a senior Hezbollah operative, Anadolu reports.
Israeli Army Radio said that the target of the attack in Beirut was Ali Tabatabai, Hezbollah’s acting chief of staff.
Lebanon’s official National News Agency reported that “hostile aircraft” had bombed a southern suburb of Beirut, causing injuries and significant material damage.
Hezbollah has yet to comment on the reported strike.
