The Israeli army said on Monday that its forces killed two Palestinians in northern Gaza, claiming they had crossed into an area under its control according to the ceasefire agreement.
In a statement, the army said that troops from the Carmeli Brigade (2) shot dead the two Palestinians in separate incidents in the north of the strip, alleging that they posed “an immediate threat”. This is the same claim Israel often uses when it breaches the ceasefire.
The statement added that the soldiers fired at them as soon as they crossed into the zone controlled by Israel under the agreement and killed them “to remove the threat”.
The ceasefire came into effect on 10 October 2025. Israeli military assessments say that Israel controls more than half of Gaza’s territory under the first phase of the deal.
Earlier on Monday, another Palestinian was killed by fire from an Israeli Quadcopter drone east of the Zeitoun neighbourhood in south-east Gaza City.
The strike hit an area outside the zone from which Israel has withdrawn under the ceasefire with Hamas.
Previous data issued by government bodies, Palestinian groups and human rights organisations show that Israel has carried out dozens of ceasefire violations, killing and injuring hundreds of Palestinians, including children and women.
