The Israeli army has claimed that, in addition to Houthis in Yemen, there are tens of thousands of them are spread across the Middle East, including in Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, and Syria.
According to the report, Iran maintains regular contact with the Houthi leadership in Yemen, providing weapons, oil, raw materials, and military training and guidance.
The Israeli army fears that Iran could use the Houthis across the region to carry out attacks on Israel, not only from Yemen.
Israel is reportedly concerned that Iran could instruct its allies to target Israeli cities and communities using ballistic missiles, drones, or even ground attacks.
In response to these threats, the army has expanded its intelligence gathering, updated its early warning systems, and conducted training for sea and land response scenarios across its central, northern, and southern commands.
According to Israeli army estimates, the Houthis could launch an attack on Israel if fighting in the Gaza Strip resumes. It is preparing for all scenarios, particularly by expanding its list of potential targets.
