Saudi Arabia on Tuesday reaffirmed the centrality of the Palestinian cause, stressing its firm support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
In a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency following the weekly cabinet meeting, Minister of Media Salman bin Yousef Al-Dossari said the Council of Ministers reiterated the Kingdom’s support for all efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. He said these efforts are intended to enable the Palestinian people to exercise their right to self-determination and to establish their independent state.
Al-Dossari added that the cabinet was briefed on recent consultations and discussions between Saudi Arabia and a number of countries concerning regional developments, efforts to promote regional security and peace, and support for multilateral international initiatives that contribute to development and stability and enhance collective responses to shared challenges.
He also referred to the Two-State Solution conference held in New York on July 28 and 29, 2025, co-chaired by Saudi Arabia and France. The conference concluded with the issuance of the New York Declaration, which announced joint action to end the war in Gaza, reach a just, peaceful and lasting settlement to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict based on the effective implementation of the two-state solution, and work towards a better future for Palestinians, Israelis and the peoples of the region.
