Early on Wednesday, the so-called SDF terrorist group targeted army positions and homes in the eastern part of Aleppo city, northern Syria.
A military source told the official Syrian channel Al-Ikhbariya that “the SDF (the political front for the YPG terrorist group) attacked army positions and local homes near the village of Hamima east of Aleppo city using drones and heavy machine guns.” It was not immediately clear whether there were any casualties.
The source added that “the army responded to the sources of fire in the area.”
On Tuesday evening, the Syrian army foiled an SDF attempt to plant explosives and destroy the bridge linking the villages of Rasm al-Imam and Rasm al-Kurum near Deir Hafer in eastern Aleppo governorate.
Earlier the same day, the group had blown up the bridge at the village of Umm Tina near Deir Hafer, which connects the two sides of the Euphrates River dividing government-controlled areas from those held by the group.
In response to the SDF drone attacks near Hamima village, the army shelled the group’s positions around Deir Hafer.
In other ongoing incidents, the official Syrian channel reported that a civilian was killed on Tuesday by SDF sniper fire while trying to leave Deir Hafer on his motorcycle.
