The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has reaffirmed its commitment to the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, while Israel continues to violate its terms around the clock, attempting to obstruct the work of the national committee, despite US-announced arrangements and guarantees.

In a statement to the Safa news agency on Thursday, Hamas said that around 484 Palestinians have been killed and 1,297 others injured by Israeli fire during the fifth month since the ceasefire began, with no real pressure applied to stop the ongoing violations.

The movement added that participants in the Davos forum should have focused on Israel’s continuing crimes in Gaza, which undermine international efforts to maintain the ceasefire, reopen crossings, withdraw the Israeli army, and start reconstruction, rather than threatening the Palestinian side, which has upheld the agreement.

Hamas called on the Peace Council to take responsibility for stopping Israel’s violations and ensuring it meets the obligations of the agreement, including delivering aid, providing shelter supplies, and beginning relief and reconstruction, to protect the Palestinian people from the humanitarian crisis caused by the occupation—especially as Gaza faces heavy rain and severe cold.
