Sudan’s Sovereignty Council Chairman, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, said on Monday that the country is determined to end the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) rebellion for good and will not allow it to return.

He made the remarks during a speech at the graduation ceremony of the 22nd qualifying batch of the General Intelligence Service, according to a statement from the Sovereignty Council’s media office.

Al-Burhan said: “We are determined to end the rebellion forever, and we will not allow it to exist again.”

He praised what he described as the heroic role played by members of the General Intelligence Service in the “battle of dignity” against the RSF, and their support for the Sudanese Armed Forces across all combat fronts.

Al-Burhan said that all branches of the regular forces stand together with the Sudanese people to defeat the rebellion and bring it to an end.

He added: “We will not allow any new rebellion another chance, and any negligence or leniency in this matter will be met with firmness and decisive action.”

Al-Burhan also reaffirmed his determination to restore security and stability across the country, saying: “The rebellion is coming to an end.”
