The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states on Monday urged the international community to take firm action to stop violations and unlawful measures announced by Israeli occupation forces in the occupied West Bank.

In a statement issued on Monday, GCC Secretary General Jassem Mohamed Al Budaiwi strongly condemned the unlawful decisions and measures announced by Israeli occupation forces in the occupied West Bank. He said these measures include attempts to impose unilateral realities that go against international law and relevant international resolutions.

Al Budaiwi stressed that the illegal and unilateral steps taken by Israeli occupation forces to impose sovereignty are a clear violation of international law, international resolutions and existing agreements. He called on the international community to meet its legal responsibilities, take firm positions to stop these violations, and ensure respect for international humanitarian law.

He also reaffirmed the GCC’s long-standing position in support of the Palestinian people’s right to establish an independent state on the borders of 4th June 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with United Nations resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative, and to achieve their aspirations to live in dignity and peace.
