Saudi Arabia has urged Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) to immediately stop their violations and to uphold their ethical and humanitarian duty by ensuring that aid reaches those in need.

The statement was made during a session at the United Nations and international organisations in Geneva on Monday, where Saudi Arabia’s permanent mission took part in an interactive briefing on the human rights situation in Al-Fasher and surrounding areas, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, said in his briefing that the “atrocities” in Al-Fasher, the capital of North Darfur in western Sudan, are fully the responsibility of the Rapid Support Forces and their allies and backers.

Saudi Arabia, through its permanent representative, Ambassador Abdulmohsen bin Khothaila, reiterated its condemnation of the serious human rights violations carried out during the attacks by the RSF on Al-Fasher in October 2025.

The Kingdom also condemned the criminal attacks on health facilities, aid convoys, and civilian property, which led to the deaths of dozens of displaced people and unarmed civilians, including women and children.

Saudi Arabia affirmed its position supporting Sudan’s unity, security, and stability and the importance of preserving its legitimate institutions.

It called for the RSF to immediately halt their violations and to uphold their humanitarian and ethical responsibility by ensuring that relief aid reaches those in need, in line with international and humanitarian law, SPA reported.
