An Israeli Knesset member accompanied by a group of settlers entered a girls’ secondary school in the northern occupied West Bank during school hours on Sunday, prompting condemnation from Palestinian education officials.
Local sources said that the extremist lawmaker, Tzvi Tzukot stormed the Al-Lubban Al-Sharqiya Girls’ Secondary School south of Nablus alongside armed settlers. Witnesses reported that he entered the school grounds in a provocative manner, filmed inside the premises and threatened members of the teaching staff.
According to the same sources, Israeli forces entered the village shortly after the settlers left the school.

The Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education condemned the incident, describing it as part of repeated incursions targeting the Palestinian educational environment. The ministry called on the international community to exert pressure to halt what it said were violations of students’ and teachers’ right to safe education.
Samer al-Jamal, Director General of Education in the South Nablus Directorate, said that storming schools and terrorising female students and staff constituted a clear breach of international laws and conventions protecting educational institutions.
He stressed that schools must remain free from practices that disrupt the educational process, adding that such actions would not deter the educational community from continuing its mission. He urged human rights and international organisations to assume their responsibilities and intervene to stop what he described as repeated violations against the education sector in Nablus Governorate.
