The Palestinian presidency has called for immediate international action over what it described as the continued shedding of Palestinian blood in the Gaza Strip.
On Monday, the presidency strongly condemned what it called the ongoing “violation of Palestinian blood” in Gaza. It urged the international community to intervene to stop what it described as a war of genocide and to oblige Israel to halt measures that it said are fuelling the cycle of violence and conflict in the region.
According to the official Palestinian news agency, WAFA, the presidency expressed “strong” condemnation of the continued bloodshed, including the killing of 14 Palestinian citizens over the past 24 hours as a result of ongoing Israeli shelling, despite a ceasefire being in place.
Israel launched a large-scale military offensive on Gaza on 8 October 2023, with backing from the United States. The conflict lasted two years and resulted in more than 72,000 Palestinians killed and over 171,000 injured, most of them women and children. Around 90 per cent of civilian infrastructure in Gaza was also reported to have been damaged or destroyed.
Although a ceasefire agreement came into force in October 2025, Israel has continued to carry out air strikes and demolition operations in various parts of the Strip, in what the Palestinian side describes as repeated violations of the agreement.
