Israeli strike on tents for displaced Palestinians kills 1, injures 10 in southern Gaza

At least one Palestinian was killed, and 10 others, most of them children, were injured after an Israeli strike hit tents sheltering displaced people in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis city in southern Gaza on Sunday, Anadolu reports.

The wounded children and a woman were taken by medical teams to the Kuwait Field Hospital for emergency treatment. After receiving first aid, the injured were transferred to Nasser Hospital for further care.

The tents struck in the Israeli attack were heavily damaged.

Hussam Abu Hajras, who witnessed the strike, said displaced Palestinians were inside the tents in Al-Mawasi when a powerful explosion erupted nearby. Residents rushed to the scene and found one person dead and several others, including children, injured.

He said four injured children were found lying on the road and were carried by residents to the main road, where medical teams took them, along with an injured woman, to the Kuwait Field Hospital for emergency treatment.

Israel continued to violate the ceasefire agreement that has been in effect since Oct. 10, 2025. According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, Israeli ceasefire violations have killed more than 1,144 Palestinians and injured 3,703 others as of Friday.

The ministry says Israel’s military campaign in Gaza since October 2023 has killed more than 73,000 Palestinians and wounded over 173,000, while causing widespread destruction to about 90% of the enclave’s civilian infrastructure.
