Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam on Saturday warned against dragging Lebanon into regional escalation following the US and Israel’s attack on Iran, Anadolu reports.

In a post on the social media platform X, Salam urged all Lebanese to act with “wisdom and patriotism,” placing “Lebanon and its people above any consideration.”

He stressed that Lebanon “will not accept that anyone drags the country into adventures that threaten its security and unity.”

Israel launched the attack early Saturday under the name ‘Lion’s Roar,’ declaring a “special and immediate” state of emergency across the country.

US President Donald Trump also confirmed “major combat operations” in Iran aimed at defending the American people by “eliminating imminent threats from the Iranian regime.”
