The leader of Yemen’s Houthi movement, Abdul-malik al-Houthi, said on Thursday evening that his group was ready for any developments in the ongoing confrontation involving the United States, Israel and Iran, stressing that it would stand with Tehran against what he described as US-Israeli aggression.

In a televised speech broadcast by the group’s Al-Masirah channel, he said: “From the beginning we have stressed that the aggression against Iran is a targeting of the entire region and a war against Islam and Muslims.”

Al-Houthi added that the Houthis considered themselves directly concerned and would take a position alongside the Islamic Republic of Iran, saying the group stands “with it against all our enemies”.

He also stressed that the movement was “ready for all developments in this battle”.

According to al-Houthi, the attack on Iran aims to reshape the region and dominate what he referred to as the Middle East, while removing Iran as an influential Islamic power that, in his view, plays a major role in protecting the Muslim world.

At the same time, he praised what he described as Iran’s “strong, effective and destructive military response against the enemies”, claiming that it had destroyed US bases in the region and caused significant damage to Israel.

Al-Houthi added that everyone in the region believes that if the enemies succeeded in their aggression against Iran, they would seek to use the outcome to subjugate and impose their will on the rest of the region’s peoples.
