Secretary General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit strongly condemned the Israeli aggression on Lebanon, describing the attacks as “barbaric and unprecedented.”
In a statement, Aboul Gheit said that the Israeli airstrikes, which resulted in hundreds of deaths and injuries among civilians, constitute a blatant violation and serious breach of international law, accusing Israel of working to undermine ceasefire efforts in the region.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Arab League, Jamal Rushdi stated that despite ongoing international efforts to de-escalate the conflict, Israel continues with its obstructive role, preventing progress toward restoring stability.
He added that Israeli occupation policies are based on a systematic escalation through Lebanon, warning that such actions risk sabotaging any understanding aimed at achieving regional security.
The Arab League reiterated its call — in line with its 29th March declaration — for influential international actors to pressure Israel to immediately halt its attacks on Lebanon and comply with relevant international resolutions.
The organization also affirmed its full solidarity with Lebanon and its people, as the country faces intensifying Israeli aggression and its humanitarian consequences.
