Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been set to hold a meeting with the security cabinet and senior defence officials to discuss scenarios for a possible resumption of fighting with Iran, as Israel reviews several options.

Among the scenarios under discussion is restarting the campaign at a lower intensity than previously seen.

A government meeting scheduled for today is expected to take place under tight security measures across several sensitive sites.

At the same time, military alert levels have been significantly raised.

The Chief of Staff has instructed the army to prepare for an immediate return to combat and ordered the start of operational preparations.

The air force is focusing on technical maintenance and readiness of aircraft, while flight crews have been given short leave in preparation for any potential activity.

Despite these developments, Israel assesses that both Iran and the United States remain interested in reaching an agreement to prevent the situation from escalating into a full-scale war.

A senior Israeli official said: “We have learned from this war that negotiations change nothing – in the end, the decision lies with Donald Trump.”
