UN: Israeli settlers carried out 1,330 attacks in West Bank since January

The UN said Israeli settlers have carried out more than 1,330 attacks in the occupied West Bank since the start of 2026, causing casualties and damage to Palestinian property.

The UN humanitarian affairs office (OCHA) said in a statement on Monday that it was deeply concerned “over the escalating violence across the West Bank in recent days.”    

The agency stated that since January, it had “documented more than 1,330 incidents involving Israeli settlers that resulted in casualties, property damage, or both.”

According to OCHA, at least eight Palestinians, including a child, and two Israelis have been killed since last Thursday, while others have been injured.

The office added that homes, mosques, trees and agricultural facilities had been burned or vandalised, with some completely destroyed. It said at least ten Palestinian families had been displaced by the latest wave of violence.

The West Bank has seen an escalation in settler violence against Palestinians and their property in recent weeks.

Palestinian and international human rights organisations say Israeli soldiers have turned a blind eye to settler attacks and, in some cases, have taken part in them.
