Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on Sunday stressed the need to resolve the various crises in the region to preserve regional stability.
Sisi made the remarks during a meeting in the northern Egyptian city of El Alamein with Jared Kushner, US President Donald Trump’s adviser and son-in-law, according to a statement from the Egyptian presidency.
The two sides discussed “developments in the Middle East and the Palestinian issue”, the presidency said.
Sisi stressed the importance of continuing efforts to address common challenges, given the two countries’ commitment to supporting security and stability at regional and international levels.
He also underlined “the need to resolve the various crises facing the region in order to preserve regional stability”, according to the statement.
The meeting also addressed the Palestinian issue, urging all parties to honor the Gaza ceasefire agreement reached at the October 2025 Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit.

Kushner, for his part, praised the “close coordination between Egypt and the United States”.
He also expressed appreciation for “the efforts made by Egypt and the Egyptian president personally on various regional issues to promote peace and stability in the region”, the statement said.
Kushner stressed that Egypt is “a key partner of the United States in the Middle East”.
The United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran on 28 February, prompting Tehran to target US and Israeli sites in the region before a ceasefire agreement was reached.
Between 8 and 24 July, the United States resumed its attacks on Iran, while Tehran targeted what it described as “US military facilities and equipment” in Arab countries, before talks resumed on safe shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz.
This followed the signing by Washington and Tehran on June 18 of a memorandum of understanding on freedom of navigation, although its implementation stalled over disputes related to the security of the strait.
