Hamas on Sunday called for the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip and an end to what it described as Israeli killings of Palestinians.
The call came in a statement following talks in Cairo between a Hamas delegation led by its political bureau chief Khalil al-Hayya and mediators over a roadmap for the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement.
According to a Palestinian source who spoke to Anadolu on condition of anonymity, the Hamas delegation led by al-Hayya met in Cairo with Jared Kushner, US President Donald Trump’s envoy and son-in-law.
In its statement, Hamas said: “Under the generous auspices of Egypt, the Hamas leadership delegation, headed by Khalil al-Hayya, head of the movement, met with the representatives of the mediating and guarantor countries of the Gaza ceasefire agreement.”

The group said it had agreed to “the roadmap for the second phase of President Donald Trump’s plan”.
It said the approval was based on “the interests of our people and the desire to reach a permanent ceasefire, the complete withdrawal of the Israeli occupation army from the Gaza Strip, and the provision of urgent and sustained humanitarian aid”.
Hamas called on “the mediators and the Board of Peace to fulfil their responsibilities and compel the occupation to implement all its commitments under the first phase, end all violations, stop killings and incursions, and approve the roadmap for the second phase of President Trump’s plan”.
