Protesters gathered outside the Israeli Consulate in New York City on Friday, with some anti-Zionist activists detained by police for disrupting traffic, Anadolu reports.

Demonstrators gathered on Second Avenue in Manhattan’s Midtown area, where police detained several protesters as the demonstration disrupted traffic.

Since the ceasefire deal was signed last October, the area occupied by Israeli forces in Gaza has increased from 53 percent to 70 percent, according to Israeli officials.

More than 73,000 Palestinians have been killed across the coastal enclave, mostly women and children, since Israel launched its war in October 2023.
