Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said Tehran has ways to respond to any US scenario, including confrontation, escalation and sanctions.

Gharibabadi, according to Iranian media reports, said implementing US commitments was not complicated and that Washington should be the one to begin fulfilling its obligations.

He said Iran would begin fulfilling its commitments if the United States first implemented its own obligations, adding that the process could take no more than a day.

He also said this was the first time that security issues and preventing threats in the Strait of Hormuz had been raised as part of understandings with Oman.

Gharibabadi stressed that the United States should understand that Iran would harm US interests if Iranian interests were targeted.
