Netanyahu orders legal case against Erdogan focusing on Kurds, Hamas

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has instructed an inter-ministerial team and the head of the International Law Department at Israel’s Justice Ministry to prepare a comprehensive legal case against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Israeli news website i24NEWS reported on Sunday evening.

According to the report, the case focuses on allegations concerning the Turkish government’s policies towards the Kurds, as well as what Israel describes as Ankara’s ties to Hamas and its financial support for the movement.

The move comes amid an escalating legal dispute between Ankara and Tel Aviv. Erdogan has previously said he had approached Interpol in an attempt to secure a Red Notice against Netanyahu, following Turkish legal proceedings linked to Israeli military operations in the region.

According to i24NEWS, Israel is considering using the case file in international legal proceedings, including potentially referring the case to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, either directly or through another country.
