Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan held talks Monday with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, during an official visit to Tehran to discuss bilateral cooperation in energy, transport and infrastructure, Anadolu reports.

The officials discussed plans to build a second bridge along the Armenia-Iran border and the importance of completing a third power transmission line between the two countries, as well as measures to facilitate freight transportation, according to the Armenian Foreign Ministry.

Mirzoyan briefed Araghchi on ongoing work to implement the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project and the opportunities it could create for countries across the region. Iran’s support for the “Crossroads of Peace” project was also emphasized during the talks.

The officials discussed continued cooperation on public information, including efforts to respond appropriately to what they described as unnecessary speculation in the media.

They also exchanged views on regional developments, with Mirzoyan saying Armenia was closely monitoring the current situation and stressing the importance of resolving outstanding issues through negotiations.
