The Sudan Doctors Network has condemned an attack by drones operated by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on trucks contracted by the World Food Programme (WFP) to transport aid from Dilling to Kadugli in South Kordofan state.
In a statement, the network said the attack killed one driver and injured three others, describing it as a new attack on humanitarian workers and supply chains aiding civilians.
It said targeting WFP shipments threatened the lives of civilians and undermined humanitarian work.
The Sudan Doctors Network called on the United Nations and international humanitarian and rights organisations to launch an independent and transparent investigation into the attack, identify those responsible and make the findings public.

The WFP also strongly condemned the attack on the two trucks in South Kordofan and called for a swift and impartial investigation into the circumstances of the incident and for those responsible for any violations to be held accountable.
The programme said the trucks were travelling from Dilling to Kadugli when they came under attack, despite carrying clear markings indicating their humanitarian purpose.
The WFP did not identify those responsible for the attack, saying it was “still assessing the extent of the damage to the food shipment”.
