US Congressional Democrats are seeking information about Jared Kushner’s financial investments in Israel following a CNN investigation that raised questions about potential conflicts of interest involving his business interests and his role in Middle East diplomacy.
Representative Robert Garcia, the ranking Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, sent a letter on Monday to Kushner’s investment firm, Affinity Partners, requesting details about its business dealings in the Middle East.
The request followed a CNN investigation reporting that Kushner’s private equity firm was the largest shareholder in an Israeli company that supports businesses involved in Israeli military operations.

Garcia said committee Democrats were “investigating the unprecedented and dangerous ways in which President Trump and his family have directly profited from their access to power.”
“I am requesting detailed information regarding your business dealings in the Middle East to understand whether your massive financial gains have come at the expense of the safety and security of the American people,” Garcia wrote.
The Congressional inquiry follows questions raised by CNN about a potential conflict of interest between Kushner’s role as a Middle East peace envoy and his company’s financial investments.
The request also signals increased scrutiny by House Democrats of the Trump family’s domestic and international business dealings ahead of the upcoming midterm elections.
