New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani on Wednesday marked the third anniversary of the 7th October 2023 attack, mourning the victims while criticizing Israeli policies and calling for an end to what he described as occupation and apartheid.

“We mark the third anniversary of the horrific war crimes that took place on 7th October, during which Hamas killed more than 1,100 Israelis and abducted over 251 people,” Mamdani said.

“We grieve alongside our neighbours and friends who are facing unimaginable loss,” he added.

Referring to Israeli policies in the three years since the attack, Mamdani said: “Three years after the massacre, we must refuse to accept a world where occupation and apartheid continue.”
