Iran’s Army Ground Forces commander Brig. Gen. Jahanshahi has ordered military unit commanders to maintain the highest level of combat readiness, warning that negligence during wartime could have serious consequences, Tasnim news agency reported Friday.

“In wartime conditions, any negligence or carelessness can carry heavy costs,” Jahanshahi said, according to Tasnim.

He stressed that maintaining effective operational readiness requires continuous training, accurate assessments of military capabilities, coordination among units and the rapid identification and correction of shortcomings.

Jahanshahi also instructed commanders at all levels to strengthen combat capabilities through careful planning, continuous supervision and effective follow-up.

The remarks come amid heightened military tensions between Iran and the US following months of hostilities and ongoing disputes over security and maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
