Hamas said on Monday that a new UN report documenting war crimes and crimes against humanity by Israeli forces in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, and warning that the genocide in Gaza was continuing, provided further evidence of the scale of violations against Palestinians and the impunity enjoyed by those responsible.

In a statement, the Palestinian group said the atrocities and systematic violations outlined in the report reflected the failure of the United Nations and the international community to fulfil their legal and moral responsibilities and prevent such crimes.

Hamas called on the UN and the international community, including all its institutions and member states, to take serious action to implement the report’s recommendations, particularly decisive measures to end Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory. It also urged them to bring legal cases before relevant international and national courts to ensure that those responsible for violations against Palestinians and their land were held accountable.

A group of independent experts mandated by the UN said in a new report issued on Monday that the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip had not halted what it described as Israel’s genocide in the territory.
