US Vice President JD Vance has reportedly criticised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s assessment and handling of the conflict with Iran, amid disagreements within the Trump administration following the Republican Party’s defeat in the midterm elections.

According to a report by Axios, citing informed sources, Vance accused Netanyahu during private discussions of being wrong about virtually every aspect of the conflict with Iran.

The vice president reportedly recalled his earlier warnings that the war lacked sufficient public support in the United States and could cost Republicans their congressional majority.

His remarks come amid growing internal debate over the political and military consequences of the confrontation with Tehran.

Separately, Axios cited US officials as saying that the American military had completed operational preparations for a possible resumption of large-scale military operations inside Iran.

The report also highlighted concerns among diplomats that Tehran’s public celebration of the Republican election losses could further intensify tensions with Washington.

According to the diplomats, Iranian statements portraying the election outcome as a defeat for the United States could encourage President Donald Trump to consider renewed military escalation in an effort to restore deterrence.

The developments come amid uncertainty over the future of US policy toward Iran, as Washington weighs the political consequences of the conflict alongside preparations for potential renewed military operations.
