59 injured after Iranian rocket hits Galilee area

Fifty-nine people were injured early on Friday after an Iranian rocket struck a village in the Galilee region following three successive waves of missiles targeting northern Israel within one hour.

The Hebrew newspaper Haaretz reported that 59 people suffered moderate to minor injuries after the rocket attack on the town of Zarzir in the Galilee area.

It said the rocket landed about 10 metres from a house in the village, destroying it completely and causing severe damage to four other homes.

According to the report, the strike was part of a third wave of Iranian bombardment that targeted northern Israel within an hour early on Friday.

In a separate incident, Israel’s Channel 12 reported that a building in the Kiryat Tivon area of the city of Haifa was damaged after being hit by a rocket, though no injuries were reported.

Earlier, the Israeli military said in a statement that air raid sirens sounded in central and northern Israel as attempts were made to intercept a barrage of Iranian missiles.

Since 28th February, Israel and the United States have been carrying out military attacks on Iran. At least 1,332 people have been killed, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and security officials, and more than 15,000 others have been wounded.
