The spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters called on Arab and Muslim states to forge a “security union” independent of the United States and Israel.
“What have the US military bases brought to the region?” Ebrahim Zolfaghari asked in a rhetorical question directed at the US and Israeli allies in the region.
“If you were to be attacked by the Zionist entity’s army, would the Americans fire one bullet in your defence?”
He called for founding a collective security charter “based on Islam and the Quran” as its frame of reference.
He added that the Islamic Republic of Iran is willing to forge a security and military union with its regional neighbours, independent of the United States and Israel.
“To ensure security in our region, we do not need countries located thousands of kilometres far from us. We do not need countries that see Islamic nations as milk cows,” he said.
“We do not need a country that prioritizes Israel’s security and interests above all else. America does not see Muslims except through the lens of their lands’ resources of oil and gas.”
