The Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai police in the United Arab Emirates urged Arab Gulf nations in a series of X posts on Tuesday to further strengthen their relations with Israel and to have no hope in the region’s fellow Arab nations beyond the Gulf peninsula.
“To the people of the Arab Gulf, strengthen cooperation with Israel. My advice is that the states of the region are no good,” Dhahi Khalfan Tamim wrote, implicitly praising his country’s alliance with Israel and criticizing Arab states outside of the Gulf area.
Tamim’s posts came during the regional war that began in late February when the United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran, leading to the latter’s retaliation, including through attacks on the United Arab Emirates and other Arab Gulf states.
“This war has proven that Western countries are our friends, and that those whom we call ‘brethren’ are separate from us—except for the fellow monarchical nations that get along with us and sympathize with us.”
The Emirati security officer also praised the United States and Israel for their war on Iran, writing that the US-Israeli attacks aim to “eliminate the machinery of destruction that were created to support Persian dominance in the region.”
