A senior Israeli lawmaker has mocked US President Donald Trump over his threats against Iran despite an ongoing ceasefire.
Tzvika Fogel, head of the National Security Committee in the Knesset and a member of the far-right Jewish Power party, criticised Trump in a post on the X platform.
“Donald, if you have to shoot, shoot. Don’t quack,” Fogel wrote.
He accompanied the comment with a duck emoji, in a sarcastic reference to Trump’s repeated statements and threats towards Iran while the ceasefire remains in place.
Fogel appeared to be referring to remarks made by Trump earlier on Sunday, in which he claimed the US Navy would begin imposing a blockade on all ships attempting to enter or leave the Strait of Hormuz.
The Jewish Power official, who supports resuming the war against Iran, made his comments as Israeli officials continue to react to fast-moving political and security developments, with both public and indirect messages being exchanged on social media.
