Israeli military carries out operations in Syria’s Quneitra countryside under air cover

Israeli forces carried out military operations in the countryside of Syria’s Quneitra province early on Sunday, including setting up a temporary checkpoint, inspecting civilians and shelling areas near al-Hamidiyah, while military helicopters flew overhead, local sources told RT.

The sources said an Israeli patrol of five military vehicles set up a temporary checkpoint in the village of al-Samdaniyah al-Sharqiyah in the Quneitra countryside, where troops searched passers-by before leaving. There were no reports of any civilians being detained.

Later, Israeli forces stationed at the al-Hamidiyah military base fired three shells that landed near the town of al-Hamidiyah in central Quneitra countryside. No casualties or material damage were reported.

At around 3 a.m. local time, Israeli military helicopters flew over several areas in the northern countryside of Daraa province before heading south, where they continued flying.

Local sources told RT that an Israeli force comprising six military vehicles advanced into the area around the Kudna Dam in the Quneitra countryside on Saturday evening, while drones flew overhead. No clashes or civilian casualties were reported.

The sources also reported intensive low-altitude flights by Israeli reconnaissance aircraft and helicopters over several areas of Quneitra province before the aircraft headed east towards the area known as the “Triangle of Death”, where the countryside of Daraa, Quneitra and Rural Damascus provinces meet, continuing as far as the outskirts of al-Kiswah in southern Rural Damascus.

Shortly beforehand, an Israeli force comprising two military vehicles advanced from the Tal Abu al-Ghaithar gate towards the town of Sayda al-Hanout in the Quneitra countryside.
