Bomb explosion aboard passenger minibus kills, injures several near Damascus: Report

Several people were killed and injured when an explosive device detonated aboard a passenger minibus in Jaramana, in the Damascus countryside, on Thursday, Syrian state media reported, Anadolu reports.

State-run Al-Ikhbariya TV said the explosive device exploded inside the minibus, killing and injuring several people, but did not provide an initial casualty toll or further details about the circumstances of the blast.

The Syrian Interior Ministry and security authorities had not issued an official statement at the time of publication, and no group immediately claimed responsibility.

Syria’s state news agency SANA cited Najib al-Naasan, director of the Referral, Ambulance and Emergency Directorate at the Health Ministry, who said sayig seven people were injured in the explosion.

Al-Naasan said forensic teams were dealing with human remains found at the scene in accordance with established procedures.

He added that nearby hospitals and emergency departments had been placed on high alert, while ambulance services and medical teams were mobilized to ensure a rapid response and transport the injured to medical facilities for treatment.

Images and videos on social media showed the minibus heavily damaged, with debris scattered across the road and in front of residential buildings.
