Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa in Riyadh on Tuesday, Anadolu reports.
The kingdom’s official news agency SPA shared photos of the meeting on US social media platform X, without disclosing any further details.
The Syrian presidency said the meeting was also attended by Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani.
It said the two sides discussed relations between Syria and Saudi Arabia, and ways to further develop them in a manner that serves their mutual interests.
They also exchanged views on the latest developments in the region and discussed several issues of mutual concern, with the aim of supporting regional security and stability, according to the statement.
Sharaa arrived in the Saudi capital earlier on Tuesday. He last met the crown prince in Jeddah on April 21, when the two leaders discussed bilateral relations and regional developments. They also spoke by phone on July 30 to discuss bilateral cooperation and efforts to reduce regional tensions.
