Malaysia will take decisive action against shipments passing through its territory that support Israel’s military, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said on Tuesday.

Ibrahim posted on X a report saying Malaysian authorities had seized shipments that were on their way to Israel.

He said Malaysia’s position on the matter was “clear and unequivocal”, adding: “We will not allow our country to be used as a conduit for any shipment that supports or contributes to Israel’s military capabilities and its atrocities against Palestinians and other innocent lives.”

He said any suspicious shipment would be inspected and investigated under Malaysian law, stressing: “Where a violation is established, decisive action will be taken.”

Ibrahim said on 15 July that people holding Israeli citizenship alongside another nationality who were found to be residing or staying in Malaysia would be deported.
