Palestinian students crowded into tent classrooms in Gaza City on Saturday, as local authorities and educators struggled to resume schooling amid widespread devastation left by the war, Anadolu reports.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education, around 700 tents have been set up across the Gaza Strip to serve more than 500,000 students whose regular schools were damaged, destroyed, or converted into shelters.

Despite a fragile ceasefire, ongoing blockades and continued military strikes continue to severely disrupt daily life and access to basic services for residents across the enclave.

According to the latest figures from Gaza’s Health Ministry, Israeli violations of the Oct. 10, 2025 ceasefire agreement have killed 1,386 Palestinians and injured 4,784 others.

Since October 2023, the Israeli army has killed nearly 74,000 Palestinians and injured over 174,000 others in a genocidal war that has also destroyed about 90% of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure.
