Israeli airstrikes kill 4 Palestinians in Gaza despite ceasefire

Despite a ceasefire still in effect, four Palestinians were killed and several others injured Wednesday in Israeli airstrikes targeting several areas in the Gaza Strip, according to local sources.

A Palestinian was killed and others injured when an Israeli drone targeted a gathering of civilians in the Al-Bassa area west of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, according to a medical source at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.

Another Palestinian was killed and others injured when an Israeli drone struck a gathering of civilians near Al-Wafaa Hospital in central Gaza City, according to a medical source.

An Anadolu correspondent said the strike hit a busy area in the city center where a large number of tents housing displaced Palestinians were located.

A medical source told Anadolu that one Palestinian was killed and others were injured, some critically, when an Israeli drone struck a civilian vehicle at a busy intersection on Al-Rashid Street in the Al-Mawasi area west of the city of Khan Younis.

An Anadolu correspondent, citing eyewitnesses, said the strike involved at least one missile.

The medical source later reported the death of another Palestinian who succumbed to serious injuries sustained in the strike.

Earlier Wednesday, a medical source at Nasser Hospital told Anadolu that 24-year-old Yahya Abu Samour died from wounds sustained after being shot by Israeli forces in the Al-Satar al-Gharbi area north of Khan Younis on Tuesday evening.

Meanwhile, local sources reported that Israeli forces carried out demolitions of Palestinian buildings and homes in areas where they are deployed east of Khan Younis, amid intense gunfire from military vehicles in the area.

In the northern Gaza Strip, eyewitnesses reported that Israeli forces fired several artillery shells toward areas east of Gaza City.

The attacks came amid continued Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement in force since last October.

Violations of the 2025 ceasefire have killed at least 1,402 Palestinians and injured 4,881 others as of Sunday, according to the latest figures from Gaza’s Health Ministry.

Since October 2023, Israel has killed nearly 74,000 Palestinians and injured over 174,000 others in its genocide in Gaza, while destroying around 90% of the enclave’s infrastructure.
