Iran’s Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Mohsen Rezaei, has said that the US response to Iran’s demands was “not convincing”.

In a post on X, Rezaei said: “America’s response to Iran’s rights and demands was not convincing. It must fully and explicitly address Iran’s seven conditions and act accordingly. Only then will the Strait of Hormuz be reopened.”

He added: “We have repeatedly stressed the need for Iran’s seven announced conditions to be met. If these conditions are fulfilled, the path to diplomacy will be open.”

Rezaei also warned: “If any action is taken against our country, we will, in accordance with the instructions issued today by the Supreme Leader of the Armed Forces, deliver crushing blows to the aggressor using new weapons.”

Iranian media have previously reported that Tehran had made several demands, foremost among them the lifting of the US naval blockade on Iranian ports, the release of frozen Iranian assets and an end to the war “on all fronts”.
