Netanyahu coalition approves 5,000 settler homes in 4 months

A report issued by the Israeli Peace Now movement has revealed that since Netanyahu’s third term in office began in March more than 5,000 new settlement housing units have been approved. This is a record for the number of construction permits given to illegal settlers within so short a period.

According to Peace Now, the new settlement units have been approved in phases but they include around 1,500 units which were given final approval by Defence Minister Moshe Ya’al.

Peace Now’s Secretary General, Yariv Oppenheimer, commented that the present government is talking about a “two state solution” but “in reality it is implementing the exact opposite”.
