Palestinian refugees killed in missile strike on Yarmouk refugee camp

February 13, 2014 at 2:08 am

Pro-regime forces have killed 15 Palestinian refugees in a missile attack on Yarmouk refugee camp in Damascus. The Syrian Media Centre reported that women and at least five children are among those killed; an unknown number of people have been wounded and buildings have been damaged.

The Coordinating Committee of the Yarmouk camp said that two Grad rockets were launched by militia belonging to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command which surrounds the camp with other pro-Assad groups. A picture posted by activists showed a building destroyed, serious damage caused to neighbouring structures and the collection of human remains from the area.

The Free Army said that it had foiled attempts by the regime army to storm the camp, but that there are clashes between the two sides taking place in the surrounding area.
